For what value of a is -4 a zero of the polynomial p(x)= x2– x – (2a+2)?

Answer:

p(x)=x²–x–(2a+2)=0

p(-4)=(-4)²-(-4)-(2a+2)=0

=16+4-2a-2=0

=18-2a=0

-2a=-18

a=-18/-2

a=9
