-2.5D refers to lens which can't see far object clearly but they can see near object clearly.In this light can't focus of retina, causing faraway objects to appear blurry. It causes eye strain or squinting and sometime headache.

Pavani315: The focal length of the person is 40cms. A person who cannot see beyond 40cm can use lens having power of -2.5D. The person has myopia and therefore have to use concave lenses. Hope this helped:)
