The poem " small pain in my chest " Is about a soldier who is died because of the injury which he received during the war . The poet in the poem have describes the situation in anti-war way. But the poem is very simple and written in simple language. In the poem there are total nine stanza's are present. The stanza's are consist of four line each. This is written in the  scheme of regular rhyme. The last two lines of stanza's follow the same pattern of rhyme excluding the first stanza. Although there are the variation in all eight stanza's( excluding the first one) but all end with same words of title.
