Formula for checking power factor as follows - divide KWH unit by KVAH units consumed in a day & Night , for eg- KWH unit - 100
KVAH units - 160
Power factor - .62 (100/160 )
This case will result in PF penalty at the time of billing , so this needs to be corrected on the same day by electrician , If he is not able to resolve then he needs to inform zonal/HO team for support . Last year due to this kind of low Power factor reading , on pan India stores we had to pay app. Rs. 2 crore as penalty in electricity bills , So this year let's target to make it zero .
