Foundation of Nawabi in Bengal.

Explanation:

  • The title of Murshid Quli Khan was given to Muhammad Hadi by emperor Aurangzeb because he supported the emperor at the time of the economic crisis. Not only the title but additional responsibility of faujdar of Maksudabad, Midnapur, Burdwan, and later on of Hughli was credited to him.
  • In 1701, he was made the Diwan of Bengal and controls the surrounding regions of Bihar and Orissa autonomously. There was nobody to question his authority. And these trends of Nawabi remained in place till the British occupation of Bengal.
