We know the following :
Gravitational force is directly proportional to the product of the mass of objects .
Gravitational force is inversely proportional to the distance between the objects.
On doubling both the masses , the gravitational force will increase by 4 th of the original because each masses are now doubled and they are multiplied.
On doubling the distance the gravitational force will decrease by one - fourth because it is inversely proportional to the square of the distances.
Now the gravitational energy will become = 4 × 1/4 th
Hence the gravitational force will be the same .
