Firstly cotton is the fiberous protective ball around the seed of the cotton plant and silk is the fibre spun by the silk worm when it makes its cocoon
Secondly
Cotton ball is mostly cellulose. Silk is a protein fibre.
Thirdly Cotton as fabric draws heat away from the body. Silk starts off feeling quite cold to the touch but heats up quickly and holds heat.
fourth Cotton fabric ignited fast and burns quickly, smells like burning paper Silk fabric is slow to ignite and will not stay lit for long tends to smoulder, smells like burning hair.
