Friction is a Necessary Evil :-

Friction plays an important role in our daily life. In Some cases, Friction is useful to us and we cannot do anything without it. At, the Same time, it is an evil in some cases because it results in the losses of energy and wear and tear of the surfaces, So, Friction is a necessary Evil.

Friction is a necessary ( Importantance of Friction)

1. Helps to Walk :- The Friction between our feet and the ground helps us to walk on the ground without sliping and falling.

2. Movement of Vehicles :- Due to the Greater friction, the tyres provide a better grip on the road which prevents skidding of the vehicles.

3. Spiked shoes for better grip :- Spikes are provided in the shoes of players and athletics to increase friction, have better grip on the ground and prevent slipping.

4. Writing Work :- We are able to Write because of Friction only. Without Friction Writing with pencil or pen is not possible.

5. Screws and nails :- It is the Force of Friction which holds screws and nails in the wood.

Friction is an Evil (Disadvantages of Friction)

1. Damage to Machine :- When the Moving part of a machine are rubbed together, a lot of heat is produced because of Friction. This heat can damage the machine gradually.

2. Wear and Tear :- Soles of Shoes and Tyres of vehicles wear out with gradually use, Therefore the worn-out pieces have to time to time.

3. Loss of Energy :- Friction always oppose the relative motion between any two objects in contact. Therefore, extra energy is spent in overcoming friction. Thus Friction involves an expense of energy.
