from a solid cylinder of height 2.8cm and diameter 4.2cm a conical of the same height and same diameter is hollowed out. find the total surface area of the remaining solid.

Total surface area of remaining solid=CSA of cylinder+CSA of cone.+area of one base
Total surface area of remaining solid=2πrh+πrl+πr²
Here,r=4.2/2=2.1 cm and h=2.8cm
l=√(r²+h²)
l=√(2.1²+2.8²)=√(4.41+7.84)=√12.25=3.5cm
Total surface area of remaining solid=πr(2h+l+r)
=22/7×2.1(2×2.8+3.5+2.1)
=6.6(11.2)=73.92cm²

Total surface area of remaining solid is 73.92cm²
