Fuse wire should have higher resistance than the other wires in the circuit but it should not have high melting point. why?​

fuse wire should have high resistance and low melting point because when more amount of current flows through the circuit the appliances connected in the circuit may get damaged so a fuse wiremelts when large amount of current flows through it so if it has high melting point this wire will not melt and causes overloading in the circuit

If the fuse wire has a higher melting point, then it cannot break the circuit. As it cannot melt due to the heat produced by the extra current.
