There is you anwer, sorry for messy diagram.
I hope you get it
point A is starting point
B is position after 10 minutes
C is the bank(or foot of tree)
x is distance A to C (whole distance)
y is distance B to C
h is height of tree
rest is basic trig
If after calculating x-y, that is distance covered in 10 minutes, you got confused, all I noticed was the distance from A to B was double of B to C. So it will take half the time (5 minutes).
Now if that confused you, you can always calculate the speed s=d/t and use this to calculate time taken to get from B to C.

I assure you, it will be the same.
Regards.
