Given :  a plane with an incline of 12 degrees that he could climb until he could get to an altitude of 100 m

To find : How far should Galileo walk up the inclined plane?

Solution:

Height = 100  m

a plane with an incline of 12 degrees  with horizontal

Hence  Sin 12   =  Height / Distance Galileo has to walk on inclined plane

=> 0.2079  = 100/Distance Galileo has to walk on inclined plane

=>  Distance Galileo has to walk on inclined plane = 100/(0.2079)

=> Distance Galileo has to walk on inclined plane = 480.97  m

Galileo walk up the inclined plane for 480.97  m
