Answer:
There are four mathematical properties which involve addition. The properties are the commutative, associative, identity and distributive properties. Commutative Property: When two numbers are added, the sum is the same regardless of the order of the addends.This means that the whole numbers are not closed under subtraction. If a and b are two whole numbers and a − b = c, then c is not always a whole number. Take a = 7 and b = 5, a − b = 7 − 5 = 2 and b − a = 5 − 7 = −2 (not a whole number).We will learn the three properties of division of rational numbers. (a/b ÷ c/d) is also a rational number. (2/3 ÷ 4/9) = (2/3 × 9/4) = (2 × 9)/(3 × 4) = 18/12 = 3/2 is also a rational number. (6/7 ÷ -5/7) = (6/7 × 7/-6) = (6 × 7)/(7 × -6) = 42/-42 = 1/-1 is also a rational number.
