generally no hydrogen gas is evoled whem metals reacts with dilut nitric acid .why?

Nitric acid is a very strong oxidizing agent. So , it oxidizes the hydrogen gas formed during the reaction to form water and an oxide of nitrogen. Thats why there is no hydrogen evolved in this process
