Oogenesis is the process of formation of eggs(ova) in the ovary.
during oogenesis, the germ cell of the ovary divides by mitosis to produce oogenia which later grow into ovarian folicles.
one cell of the follicle grows and become primary oocyte which is surrounded by granulise cells.
primary oocyte undergoes first meiotic division and produced two haploid cells-A large oocyte and a very first polar bodie.
The second oocyte undergoes second meiotic division to form a large ootid (ovum) and very small secondary polar body.
Polar bodies have no function , and hence degenerated.

Oogenesis is the process of the formation of a mature ovum from the oogonia in females
Oogenesis, ovogenesis, or oögenesis is the differentiation of the ovum (egg cell) into a cell competent to further development when fertilized. It is developed from the primary oocyte by maturation.
