To Helen, Dr. Alexander Graham Bell was proficient in many fields of science but what he possessed was the art of making every subject that he touched into something of interest for everyone, even the most abstruse theories. He could make one feel that if they only had a little more time, anyone could be an inventor. He made things seem easy. He had a poetic and humorous side and his dominating passion was his love for children. He was never quite so happy as when in the company of a little deaf child. Dr. Bell's labours in behalf of the deaf will be considered as a blessing for generations of hearing impaired children to come. Helen speaks for all when she says that she loved him alike for what he had himself achieved and what he had been capable of evoking from others
