In Gulliver's Travel by Jonathan Swift, while Gulliver reaches the floating island, by a crowd of people he is surrounded. Being similar in size to the of Gulliver he finds them to be strange. Their clothes are pictured with astronomical signs or musical instruments. Also, their heads were slanted to the left or right. Later Gulliver learns that he is on Laputa. The people in Laputa carries "Flappers" as they have short attention spans. In order to keep people focused, flappers are used for hitting other people during a conversation. Also, Gulliver learns that their houses are not built in right angles and are poorly structured. He finds this to be odd as men on Laputian are obsessed with mathematics. The people here constantly worries about dangers and never live in peace.
