Hey friend here is your answer...

Hypertension:

when we speak of measuring blood pressure , we mean measuring arterial pressure which is the pressure of blood on the walls of the arteries . Arterial pressure is expressed as the value of the maximum pressure (during a heartbeat) over the minimum pressure (between two heartbeats) . The maximum pressure is called the Systolic Pressure and the minimum pressure is called the Diastolic Pressure . The normal range of systolic pressure is about 100-140 millimetres of mercury (mmHg) , while the normal range of Diastolic Pressure is about 60-90 mmHg .

When a persons Systolic Pressure exceeds 140 mmHg , and Diastolic Pressure exceeds 90 mmHg , the person is said to have high blood pressure , or hypertension .

Hypertension may be caused by kidney diseases , genetic factors or certain medications . Women may develop hypertension due to pregnancy . Elderly people are more prone to developing hypertension due to the loss of elasticity of the arterial walls .

This reduces the flow of blood through the vessels , making the heart pump with greater force to maintain normal circulation . High body weight , smoking , excessive consumption of fatty foods and alcohol , and unhealthy lifestyle , and emotional stress can also lead to hypertension .

Hypertension is quite common and should be taken as a warning signal to avoid more serious complications . It can damage the inner lining of the arterial walls , promoting the deposition of fatty materials , particularly cholesterol , and other substances . This leads to the narrowing of arteries , and may even blocked arteries completely .

Blockages may rupture arteries , causing the formation of blood clots . A blood clot in an artery of the brain or the heart can be fatal ( leading to death ) . Hypertension can also damage the eyes, Kidneys and other organs of the body .

A person suffering from hypertension should exercise regularly, have a healthy diet and avoid smoking, consuming tobacco in other forms and drinking alcohol .

HYPERTENSION :-

Hypertension is elevated blood pressure causing increased pressure against arterial walls leading to stretching and damage to organs such as heart and kidneys, of which systolic blood pressure is an important predictor. Hypertension is treated with daily lifestyle changes along with pharmaceutical drugs to achieve a lower systolic blood pressure, however, the specific number is uncertain.
National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute expert panel on hypertension treatments concluded there is a need to conduct trials on the benefits for lower SBP as a top priority in non-diabetic patients compared to the recommended SBP of 140 mmHg.
Hypertension is sometimes referred to as the silent killer (Aycock, Kirkendoll, & Gordon, 2013). Today it is a public health problem. According to the American Heart Association 2013 Statistical Fact Sheet (2013), one out of every three adults has high blood pressure, which is estimated at 77.9 million people (AHA, 2013). High blood pressure is also referred to as hypertension.
