so lets take p(x) as 10x^5-5x^4+5x^3-x^2+x

now divide p(x) by 5

=10x^5-5x^4+5x^3-15x^2+25x+5/5

=2x^5-x^4+x^3-3x^2+5x+1--------->quotient

degree of quotient is 5

w.k.t degree of dividend also is 5

hence degree p(x)= degree q(x)
