  • About 1230 water resources are found in the state of J and K are lakes, rivers glaciers and may waterbodies. The flow of Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, and Sutlej form the Himalayas are located in the highest elevations.  
  • The major source of water in the valley is the Jhelum river it has tributary as Chenab river and has a length of 725 km.
  • It flows through the Srinagar and wular lake before entering Pakistan. The Neelam river another tributary of Jhelum is the largest river of the Kangan valley.
