The four functional group which contains Oxygen as the hetreroatoms are :-

⇒   (i)    R- OH (Alcohol)
⇒   (ii)   R-O-R (Ether)
⇒  (iii)   R-CHO (Aldehyde)
⇒  (iv)   R-COOH (Carboxylic acid)

Example, Names & Structural formula ⇒

For R- OH (Alcohol)

CH₃-CH₂-OH ---→ Ethanol

     H  H
      !   !
H- C- C-O-H
     !    !
    H   H

For R-O-R (Ether)

CH₃-O-CH₃ ----→ Methoxy Methane
