India has an unusual range of climatic conditions that ranges from very cold to very hot, dry to humid, owing to its peculiar topography and location. The Himalayas and Hindu Kush block the cold Central Asian katabatic winds and so, the rest of the Indian subcontinent has warmer temperatures.
India hosts two climatic subtypes- tropical monsoon climate, tropical wet and dry climate that fall under this group. 1) The most humid is the tropical wet climate—also known as a tropical monsoon climate—that covers a strip of southwestern lowlands abutting the Malabar Coast, the Western Ghats, and southern Assam.
