When Evaporation occurs it absorbs all the heat from the surrounding and hence. Evaporation causes cooling.
Some examples are as follows:

1.when tea is poured into a saucer when it is very hot it is exposed to a large area and causes evaporation n the tea becomes cool.

2.In summer seasons the water gets cool in a earthen pot because it has fine pores in it through which water seeps out gets evaporated .

3.when we sweat n sit under a fan we feel cool .

4. doctors advice patients with fever to keep a wet on their fore head.

5. A wet khus khus screen hung at the door of the room keeps the room cool.

Hey Friend !

Evaporation is the change of liquid into vapor without reaching at its boiling point .
Evaporation is a surface phenomenon .

The rate of Evaporation depends on the following :-

=> Increase in Surface area
When surface area is more , the rate of evaporation is more.
Also , when the surface area is less , the rate of evaporation is also less.
For example , we spread out clothes [ increase in surface area ] to get it dried fast

=> Increase in Temperature
When the temperature is more , the rate of evaporation is also more.

=> Decrease in humidity
Humidity is the amount of water present in air.
If it is less ,the rate of evaporation decreases/

=> Increase in wind speed
With the increase in wind speed , more particles of water vapor move away with wind , hence increasing rate of evaporation


We also know that evaporation causes cooling.
Here are the examples :

<> When we apply deodorant on our hand , it feels cool

<> While applying acetone on our nails to remove nail polish , it feels cool.

<> Also , we prefer to drink tea from a saucer than in a cup.
The rate of evaporation in a saucer is more [ as in a saucer surface area is more ]
Hence , evaporation takes place fast and cools the tea fast in a saucer
Hence , we can drink tea easily in a saucer.


<> We wear cotton clothes in summer to keep ourselves cool .

<> Vaporization of water from the leaves of a tree , cools the surroundings .
