let total money be x
money for shopping=1/2×x=x/2
money for bus fare=1/3×x/2=x/6
so,
3x+x+120/6=x
4x+120=6x
6x-4x=120
2x=120
x=60
so,
there were 60 Rs in the beginning

Let total money be , x
Therefore , she spent 1/2 money , so she is left with - x×1/2 =x/2 rupees.
She spends 1/3 of x/2 i.e. x/2×1/3= x/6
Remaining money - 1/2-1/6=2/6=1/3
Or, 1x/3=20
Or, x=20×3
Or,x =60.
She had rupees 60 in beginning .
Therefore , she spent 1/2 money , so she is left with - x×1/2 =x/2 rupees.
She spends 1/3 of x/2 i.e. x/2×1/3= x/6
Remaining money - 1/2-1/6=2/6=1/3
Or, 1x/3=20
Or, x=20×3
Or,x =60.
She had rupees 60 in beginning .
