Prokaryotes are such organisms which do not have a nuclear membrane or we can also define these as a type organisms which has the nucleus in its primitive form.
Only bacteria and a very few algae are examples of such kinds of prokaryotes. Examples are as follows:
• blue-green bacteria
• few unicellular algae

-These organisms have primitive and incomplete cells,
-Thus, they contain prokaryotic cells in their body structure.
-Prokaryotic cells have all three basic structure of typical cell but lack nuclear membranes around their genetic substances (DNA).
-Nuclear material of a prokaryotic cell consists of a single chromosome which is in direct contact with cytoplasm.
-Here the undefined nuclear region in the cytoplasm is called nucleoids i.e,there is no nuclear membrane.
-In a prokaryotic cell other membrane bound organells, such as mitochondria, are also absent.
-Ribosome, however, are present in prokaryotic cells.
