Fe + 2S --> FeS2

According to law of conservation of mass, mass of reactants will be equal to mass of products.

Mass of reactants = Mass of products

Mass of iron + mass of sulphur = Mass of sulphur dioxide

Hence, total mass of iron and sulphur is equal to the mass of iron sulphide.
