Because in gases molecules are far away from each other and it's weight is less so it's density is less than solid and and liquid

◆ Gases have lower density because -
- Intermolecular forces of attraction between gases are weak. Hence intermolecular spaces are large.
- Due to large spaces between molecules, resultant volume of the gas is greater as compared to same mass of solid/liquid.
- Density is inversely proportional to volume when mass is same.
- Hence, due to their larger volume gases have lower density as compared to solids/liquids.
