In metals, the electrons can move freely thus raising the speed of its conductivity while in electrolytes the free ions are moved and generally tend to move in a slow speed compared to the electrons in metals, this results in the slow conductivity of electrolytes. This is why the electrical conductivity of electrolytes is slower than of metals!
