First, as the oceans warm due to an increasing global temperature, seawater expands—taking up more space in the ocean basin and causing a rise in water level. The second mechanism is the melting of ice over land, which then adds water to the ocean.

Global warming means climate change in short due to this temperature rises because high amount of green house gases are released so, in cold region like Antarctica it affects and due to this ice melts in high amount and drains in sea so, because of this, sea level rises.
