desert plants include cactus like alovera etc... they are able to adapt to the desertic climate due to the presence of spines on their bodies which helps to reduce excessive wastage of water.in this way they are able to withstand the hot climatic conditions of a desert

Desert plants are also called xerophytes. They are adapted to grow in very hot and desert conditions. Some desert plants are cactus, date palms etc..
The following adaptations of desert plants help them to survive in such conditions
1) The stem of a cactus is thick and fleshy. This helps it to collect and store water, which is required for photosynthesis.
2) The leaves are reduced to spines as it protects the plants and reduce water loss.
3) They have long roots that grow deep underground as it helps in absorbing ground water.
