➡Black soil also called Regur soil or Black Cotton Soil , is one of the most useful and abundant soils of India .

➡It is best suited for the growth of cotton .

➡It is formed due to the weathering of basalt rock .

➡It is most abundant in the areas of Maharashtra, Saurashtra-kuchh, malwa and odisha.

➡It has an excellent water holding capacity .

➡It turns sticky when it is wet and is hence difficult to work upon unless properly treated .

1.they are rich in nutrients like patash,calcium carbonate,magnesium,etc.

2.they r poor in phosphoric content.

3.they develop deep cracks during hot weather.

4.they r well known 4 deir water holding capacity.

5.they r made up of lava flows.
