The properties of ionic compounds are as follows :-

⇒ Ionic compounds have a high melting point .

They have strong electrostatic force of attraction . Hence a strong force is required to break the bond of the ionic compound .

⇒ They have high boiling point

They have high electrostatic force of attraction and hence a large amount of force can only break its bonds . Hence they have high boiling point.

⇒ They do not conduct electricity in normal state and only conducts electricity in molten fused or aqueous solution state .

This is due to the fact that they form free ions .

⇒ They are usually soluble in water .

These are the general properties !
