Give the characteristics and component of sandstone

is composed of-small grains of minerals or rocks which are of almost the same
                         size of grains of sand            
                        - common minerals in sandstone are feldspar and quartz
                        -it takes the colour of its materials
 some of its characteristics include :
it is a semeditry rock that contains sand, minerals and other components
available in a variety of surface texture and earth colours
some sandstones of colours like brown,red and pink are known as  brown stones     
water penetrates through them easily and they are porous  (not retentive or secure)
