give the mechanism of preparation of ethoxy ethane from ethanol

Step 1:Due to the presence of two lone pairs of electrons on oxygen,ethanol act as a weak bases.Therefore,it react with strong mineral acids(HCl,H2SO4 e.t.c) to form oxonium salts.
Step II:In the presence of excess of ethanol,the protonated ethanol molecule undergoes nucleophilic attack by the unprotonated ethanol molecule to form an ethoxyethane.
