Newton's third law tells us that to every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction.

Examples of action and reactions are :

1) A book on a table: when a book is placed on a table top the book exerts a force equal to its weight on the table in equal force called the reaction acting upwards the book in direction.

2) Pushing a wall : when you exert a force on the wall by pushing the palm of your and against did you experience a force exerted by the wall on your palm.

3) Firing a bullet from a gun: when a man fires a bullet from a gun of force is exerted on the bullet action and the gun experiences and equal recoil reaction.
