TO CREATE A TEMPORARY MOUNT OF ONION PEEL, FOLLOW THE GIVEN STEPS :-


✴ Take an onion scale from an onion bulb.


✴ Break the concave side of onion scale in two till a thin translucent membrane is separated.


✴ Tear this thin onion peel or epidermis into pieces.


✴ Keep a piece of peel on the glass slide and put a drop of methylene blue stain on it.


✴ Put a drop of glycerine on stained peel and place a coverslip on it.


✴ Clean the slide from the edges and observe the mount first under low power of microscope and then under high power of microscope.
