EXPLANATION:-

x-y=5------------1

xy=6-------------1

So if x-y=5 then

x=5+y

Let's put x=5+y in eq-2

(5+y)y=6

5y+y^2=6

5y+y^2-6=0

(y-1)(y+6)=0

y=1 or y=-6

Let's put y=1 and -6 in eq-1

x-y=5

Let first put y=1

x-1=5

x=6

Now let's put y=-6

x-(-6)=5

x+6=5

x=-1

So x=6 and -1

Hence ,

x=6,−1

y=1,−6
