Quantam number is a number which occurs in the theoretical expression for the value of some quantized property of a subatomic particle, atom, or molecule and can only have certain integral or half-integral values.

Hope it helps!!

The answer for your question is an followed:

Quantum numbers are a set of values that describes the state of an electron including its distance from the nucleus, the orientation and type of orbital where it is likely to be found, and its spin. The Pauli exclusion principle states that no two electrons in an atom can have the same set of quantum numbers.

There are a total of four quantum numbers:

  • The principal quantum number (n)
  • The orbital angular momentum quantum number (l)
  • The magnetic quantum number (ml)
  • The electron spin quantum number (ms)

The total of these four quantum numbers are used to describe completely the movement and trajectories of each electron within an atom. The combination of all quantum numbers of all electrons in an atom is described by a wave function that complies with the Schrödinger equation.
