Let the rational number be x

It is multiplied by 7 so it becomes 7x

Now 1/2 is added to it, so it becomes 7x +1/2

Now , 7x+1/2 = 17/2

7x = 8

x = 8/7

The rational number is 8/7

Let the rational no. be x
(x +1/2) *7 = 17 /2
x + 1/2 = 17/14
x = 17/14 - 1/2
=(17-7)/14
=10/14
=5/7 = 0.71
