handle of utensils are always made up of hard plastic wood and bakelite. why?

if we want to pick it up we will not burn our hands bcoz they are not conductors of heat.

Mostly utensils are used to handle situations related to hot food ....
Beacuse of this their handles should not transfer heat due to which the handles are made up of bad conductors of Heat..
