The particles of colloidal solution can be separated by the technique called CENTRIFUGATION.
CENTRIFUGATION -
Sometimes the solid particles present in the liquid are so small that they pass through the pores of the filter paper. For such a mixture, the filtration technique cannot be used for separation. Such mixtures are separated by the technique called CENTRIFUGATION.
The principle of the technique is that denser particles are forced to the bottom and the lighter particles stay at top when spun rapidly. The device used to carry out centrifugation is called centrifugal machine or simply a centrifuge.
