Q. Difference between Lok sabha and Rajaya sabha [ At least 6 points for each ]

1) lok sabha members are directly elected whereas rajya sabha members are indirectly elected
2)there are 545 seats in the lok sabha and 245 seats in rajya sabha.
3)lok sabha can be dissolved whereas rajya sabha is permanent.
4)lok sabha member turn is for 5 years whereas for rajya it is 6 years.
5)lok sabha is known as House Of People whereas rajya sabha is known as Council of States.
6) ) A person should be at least 25 years of age to be eligible for Lok Sabha.

1) It has not more than 250 members.
2) Members of Rajya Sabha are not elected by the people directly but indirectly by the Legislative Assemblies of the various States. Every State is allotted a certain number of members. The minimum qualifying age for membership of the House is 30 years.
3)Twelve (12) of Rajya Sabha members are nominated by the President from persons who have earned distinction in the fields of literature, art, science and social service.
4)Rajya Sabha is a permanent body
5)It is not subject to dissolution but one-third of its members retire every two years. There are at present 245 members in Rajya Sabha.
6) The Vice-President of India is the ex-officio Chairman of Rajya Sabha. He is elected by the members of an electoral college consisting of members of both Houses of Parliament. Rajya Sabha also elects one of its members to be the Deputy Chairman.
