according to me the answer sheet is as we take the 14 is a diameter of the circle and it is a and it is a square so we will find out the area of square then we will find out the area of the circle we will subtract area of circle from the area of square and the answer is the area of the shaded region

so ar of sq=14*14=196cm^2

and ar of circle =22/7 *49
=22*7=154cm^2

so area of shaded region is 196 - 154 =42cm^2
