Question :-

A physical quantity X is related to four measurable quantities a,b,c and d as follows :-

\sf X =a^2b^3c^{\frac{5}{2}} d^{-2}

The percentage error in the measurment of a , b , c and d are 1% , 2% , 3% and 4% respectively. What is percentage error in X?

Answer :-

To solve this question first understand this -

Suppose a quantity x is related as :-

\sf x = a^n

then percentage error in x = n × (percentage error in a)

According to the question :-

\sf X =a^2b^3c^{\frac{5}{2}} d^{-2}

So, precentage error in x will be

\sf = 2(percentage\: error \:in\: a) + 3(percentage \:error \:in \:b) + \frac{5}{2}(percentage \:error\: in \:c) - 2(percentage \:error\: in\: d)

\sf = 2 ( 1\% ) + 3 ( 2\% ) + \frac{5}{2}( 3\% ) - 2 (4\%)

\sf = 2\% + 6\% + \frac{15}{2}\% - 8\%

\sf = 7.5\%

Percentage error in X = 7.5%

Explanation:

Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy into chemical energy that, through cellular respiration, can later be released to fuel the organism's metabolic activities.
