By adding aqueous solution of Silver Nitrate (aq. AgNO3).

A white precipitate of Silver Chloride (AgCl) is observed.
In case of HNO3,

Answer:
HCl reacts with silver nitrate to give a white ppt. of silver chloride. On the other hand there is no reaction observed when dil. Nitric acid is treated with silver nitrate solution. ... HNO3(aq) + AgNO3(aq) >>> No reaction + No ppt.
