Given:-

There are 35 students in a class. If 5/7 of the students were present on Monday, then how many students were not present on Monday

To Find:-

To Find:-The students who were not present on Monday

Note:-

》To get the number of students who are present on Monday, we need to subtract the number of students present on Monday from total number of students.

》If there is no denominator, it would be considered as "1" denominator; For subtracting a term, the denominator of two numbers should be equal. If it is not, then we should take L.C.M for it.

Solution:-

Total number of students = 35, Students were present on Monday = 5/7

According to note first point~

▪︎ 35 - 5/7

According to note second point, L.C.M is 7~

▪︎ 35/1 × 7/7 - 5/7 × 1/1

▪︎ 245/7 - 5/7

After doing calculations~

▪︎ 240/7

So it can be converted to mixed fraction, it will be~

▪︎ 34 \ \frac{2}{7}

Answer:-

Students not present on Monday =  34 \ \frac{2}{7}
