{\mathfrak{The\:Answer\:is}}

Radioactive isotopes have many useful applications. In medicine, for example, cobalt-60 is extensively employed as a radiation source to arrest the development of cancer. Other radioactive isotopes are used as tracers for diagnostic purposes as well as in research on metabolic processes.

Good morning!!!!!

Definition

Isotopes are variants of a particular chemical element which differ in neutron number, and consequently in nucleon number. All isotopes of a given element have the same number of protons but different numbers of neutrons in each atom.

For example ,

an atom with 6 protons must be carbon, and an atom with 92 protons must be uranium. ... A third form of hydrogen known as tritium has one proton and two neutrons: its mass number is 3. When an element's atoms have different numbers of neutrons they are said to be isotopes of that element.

Hope it helps!!!!
