 {2}^{3x + 4}  =  {2}^{3x + 2}  + 96 \\  {2}^{3x }  \times  {2}^{ 4}  =  {2}^{3x }  \times  {2}^{2}  + 96 \\ 16 \times  {2}^{3x }  - 4 \times  {2}^{3x }  = 96 \\ 12 \times  {2}^{3x }  = 96 \\  {2}^{3x }  = 8 =  {2}^{3}  \\ therefore \:  \: 3x = 3 \\ x = 1
