=4.97m/sec .
Final velocity = 0
Acceleration = 10 ms^-2 .
Now , let time of ascent be t.
v = u - at .
0= 4.97- 10t .
t =0. 497s .→t =0.5 s
Since , time of ascent is equal to time of descent , the required answer is 0.5s +0.5s = 1s
=4.97m/sec .
