glucose is oxidized in the following ways:

1) first the glucose gets converted to 3 carbon molecule pyruvate, then due to lack of oxygen in our muscle cells it gets converted to lactic acid and energy. which is also a 3 carbon molecule.

2) the other way is when glucose is converted to a 3 carbon molecule called pyruvate. then, in the presence of oxygen in mitochondria it gets converted to carbon dioxide, water and energy

the answer is in bold is products formed in each case

Answer:

it is done in 2 ways -:

1.) in presence of oxygen

2.) in absence of oxygen.

In presencs of oxygen 2 step is done that is glycolysis and kerb cycle. IT produces 38 ATP.

In absence of oxygen only 1 step is done that is glycolysis. it produces only 2 ATP.

Thanks........... take care ☺
